THE CHALLENGES

The client, a British financial startup, turned to EPAM with the concept of delivering an innovative, user-friendly and carbon neutral payment solution meant to address the growing need for customizable experiences in the field of digital payments.

The idea was to offer consumers a payment platform that would enable them to easily issue virtual payment cards with fully configurable artwork, both static and dynamic, and associate that artwork with various loyalty and charity programs working with the platform.

THE SOLUTION

EPAM quickly managed to grasp the business goals of ImageNPay in its entirety. We successfully delivered the first version of the platform, which connected to issuing banks and generated virtual cards with a preselected choice of artwork.

In this project, EPAM was responsible for the entire lifecycle of development activities:

  • Step 1
    Development of the ideal architectural design sample.
  • Step 2
    Development of iOS and Android versions of the app.
  • Step 3
    Delivery of all the backend development and infrastructure setup, including necessary processes.
  • Step 4
    Creation of a software development kit (SDK) to allow service providers access to the functionality.
  • Step 5
    Use of a business intelligence engine to identify consumer behaviors and profiling.
  • Step 6
    Achievement of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification.

The original concept, however, underwent several iterations of rework and pivoting until reaching its current state.

THE RESULTS 

Now available in Apple’s U.K. App Store, the ImageNPay app allows users to download a prepaid Mastercard virtual payment “card” that is fully compliant with all applicable regulations.
