Skills required for Remote DevOps Architect job

Hard skills a DevOps Architect shouldn’t miss:

  • Hands-on experience as an infrastructure/production DevOps, proven ability to manage and monitor an infrastructure
  • Proven experience in architecting and maintaining containerization and virtualization platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Practical knowledge of top-tier cloud services like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps automatization tools, e.g., Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Experience with infrastructure tools, e.g., Terraform
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field is often a requirement

Optional, but so advantageous:

  • Knowledge of network stack, protocols, network management, and monitoring tools
  • Understanding of security threats (DDOS, Cross-Origin Request Forgery, Injections, etc.)
