Java Solution Architect for a Mining and Metallurgical Company 40 hrs/week, 12+ months

We are currently looking for a remote Java Solution Architect with 6+ years of software design and development experience and good command of Java to join our team.

The customer is a Russian nickel and palladium mining and smelting company. Its largest operations are located in northern Russia.

Please note that even though you are applying for this position, you may be offered other projects to join within EPAM Anywhere.


  • Work out load balancing solutions for multiple geo-distributed clusters
    • Understand the requirements, current state architecture of the enterprise and create roadmap for the future enhancements accordingly
      • Detailed elaboration of the solution's components
        • Assist in defining standard methodologies, guidelines, architecture solution patterns and decisions
          • Design, communicate, enforce standards and ensure alignment with enterprise IT architecture strategy and plans
            • Collaborate with customers on building solution architecture to meet their business needs
              • Provide solution support


                • 6+ years of software design and development experience
                  • Good command of Java (enough to build a solution and run code review)
                    • Work experience with Elastic load balancers or its analogues
                      • Experience in applying traffic managers to find an optimal route query considering client’s region
                        • Ability to provide systems’ fault tolerance based on a geo-distributed cluster
                          • Experience in building a solution and conducting code reviews
                            • Hands-on experience with building SPA with React or any other similar tech stack
                              • In-depth knowledge of the main software design patterns
                                • Prior experience with OpenShift (EDP)
                                  • Familiarity with the main architectural patterns and styles
                                    • Experience in writing project documentation
                                      • User stories creating skills
                                        • Experience with DNS delegation
                                          • Experience of working with a resource plan, its adjustment and understanding its purpose
                                            • Ability to read and draw diagrams, as well as define which diagram suits a particular use case
                                              • Knowledge of the tools that provide following main quality attributes: performance, resilience, availability, security

                                                Nice to have

                                                • Ability and willingness to collaborate with developers, analysts and consultants
                                                  • Understanding of the SDLC main stages
                                                    • Skills in creating sizing for geo-distributed clusters
                                                      • Working experience with deployment and network diagrams
