Currently we are looking for a remote JavaScript Engineering Team Lead with proficiency in ReactJS to join our team.

The customer is a British luxury fashion house, focusing on trench coats, ready-to-wear outerwear, fragrances, fashion accessories, sunglasses, and cosmetics.

The main pool of tasks is associated with creating a shopping experience across platforms, both mobile and desktop, that is seamless and efficient in helping customers to find and select the right product.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and influence the technical direction and strategy within a global e-commerce organization
    • Be responsible for engineering strategy including engineering team makeup, development processes, coding standards and best practices, technology/language selection, test strategy and release strategy
      • Work with DevOps on infrastructure and environment strategy, taking a leadership role in their area of specialization and experience
        • Implement Agile working practices such as Scrum, Kanban and XP and CI/CD, TDD & BDD
          • Define and implement a continuous delivery pipeline

            Requirements

            • Extensive experience managing and influencing the technical direction and strategy within a global e-commerce organization
              • 6+ years of experience working with front-end technologies and products including ReactJS, Redux
                • Be accountable for engineering strategy including engineering team makeup, development processes, coding standards and best practices, technology/language selection, test strategy and release strategy
                  • Experience working with DevOps on infrastructure and environment strategy, taking a leadership role in their area of specialization and experience
                    • Prior experience managing offshore partners and onshore development teams
                      • Strong influencing skills and an ability to take people on a journey to sell in an idea or point of view
                        • Excellent communication and influencing skills, the ability to clearly articulate a point of view to both technical and non-technical colleagues
                          • Deep understanding of progressive engineering approaches and proven experience working and leading strategy in such an environment (including lean, microservices, internal open source principals)
                            • Willingness to constantly innovate and improve both technology and people
                              • Experience implementing and championing Agile working practices such as Scrum, Kanban and XP and CI/CD, TDD & BDD
                                • Understanding of design systems and how they relate to front-end engineering
                                  • Experience in leading projects through the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production testing and defining and implementing best delivery practice
                                    • Prior involvement in defining and implementing a continuous delivery pipeline
                                      • Understanding of version control tools (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins)
                                        • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to details
                                          • Passion, enthusiasm for and deep interest in technology and software engineering
                                            • 1+ year of relevant leadership experience
                                              • English level - C1+

                                                Nice to have

                                                • Skills in non-functional testing including security, performance and accessibility
                                                  • Appreciation of or practical experience in implementing internal open source principals
                                                    • Experience ensuring the performance and stability of server-side end applications
