Lead Data Software Engineer (Python)
We are seeking a highly skilled remote Lead Data Software Engineer to join our team, working with a leading provider of data-driven solutions for the finance industry.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data pipelines, working with large data sets to create data-driven solutions that drive business value. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring high-quality and scalable data engineering practices. responsibilities
- Design and implement complex data pipelines, ensuring high-quality and scalable data engineering practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain data processing applications and ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Identify and solve complex data engineering challenges, leveraging your expertise in Big Data technologies
- Contribute to the development of data governance and security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Software Engineering, with a focus on Big Data
- 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
- Expertise in Apache Spark and Databricks, with practical experience in building data pipelines and ETL processes
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Scala, enabling you to write efficient and scalable code
- Experience in working with Microsoft Azure, including data storage and compute services
- Completed Databricks Data Engineering Professional certification
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset, enabling you to identify and solve complex data engineering challenges
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
- Spanish language proficiency is a must-have
nice to have
- Experience in working with other Big Data technologies, such as Hadoop or Hive
- Practical experience in building data solutions for the finance industry
- Experience in working with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
