Lead Java Developer for an Insurance Company 40 hrs/week, 12+ months

We are currently looking for a Lead Developer with in-depth knowledge of Java and solid experience in building Web API to join our team.

You'll combine design thinking techniques, software development, networking skills, business domain know how and apply agile principles to build high- quality applications. You work closely with the Product Manager and UX designer to understand the problems, formulate solution proposals and evaluate the implementation effort.

The customer is a leading wholesale provider of reinsurance, insurance and other insurance-based forms of risk transfer. Dealing direct and working through brokers, its global client base consists of insurance companies, mid-to-large-sized corporations and public sector clients.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, testable and supportable code in Java
    • Write unit and integration tests
      • Refactor code
        • Perform code review
          • Design and implement microservices
            • Design and implement REST API

              Requirements

              • 5+ years of experience in software development
                • In-depth knowledge of Java
                  • Solid experience in building Web API
                    • Solid experience with microservices
                      • Understanding of main principles of CI/CD
                        • Experience with Azure
                          • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
                            • Familiar with agile methodology
                              • 1+ year of leadership experience

                                Nice to have

                                • Good knowledge of Kotlin
                                  • Experience with Go
