Lead RStudio Connect Build Engineer
You will not only contribute your expertise in building and deploying R Shiny Apps and packages but also provide leadership and guidance to the team. With a strong background in DevOps and SysAdmin engineering, you will ensure the successful implementation of projects by leveraging your 6+ years of relevant production experience. In addition to your technical skills, you should have at least 1 year of relevant leadership experience.
responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of RStudio Connect Build Engineers, providing technical guidance and support
- Oversee the build and deployment of R Shiny Apps using RStudio Connect, ensuring adherence to the Change Management process
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely support and successful expedited releases
- Plan and execute quarterly releases, including scoping and coordinating the rebuilding of R as needed
- Contribute to Python package builds for a large volume of packages
- Stay updated with the latest upgrades, including Image J, NOMEM, PSN, Python, OpenShift, Mathematica, and RStudio Workbench, and lead their implementation to the latest versions
requirements
- 6+ years of relevant production experience in RStudio Connect build and deployment
- At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience, guiding and supporting a team
- Expertise in RStudio Connect and extensive experience in building and deploying R Shiny Apps
- Strong knowledge of advanced Linux concepts and operating system concepts
- Proven experience in the installation, upgrade, and patching of RStudio Workbench, Connect, and Package Manager
- Proficiency in R-Packages, Python packages, Easy Build, and Python programming
- Familiarity with RStudio (Workbench, Connect, Shiny) administration, Linux, and Unix Shell Scripting
- Experience with OpenShift, GitLab, Docker, and Python programming
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- B2+ English level

- Familiarity with package management
- Experience with other relevant technologies and tools in the data science ecosystem
- Additional leadership or management experience
- Expertise in scaling and optimizing RStudio Connect infrastructure
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment strategies
