Currently, we're looking for a remote Senior Data Engineer with 3+ years of Data Engineering experience, and Google Cloud Platform expertise to join our team.
The customer is a German multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations.
The main pool of tasks is associated with the migration of on-premises data services into the Google Cloud Platform.
responsibilities
- Designing the architecture for data services technologies in GCP and providing subject matter expertise input into the overall migration plan
- Configuring data replication for the technologies in scope to move the data to Google Cloud Platform
- Building Terraform and Ansible scripts to build and deploy database infrastructure and instances
- Analyzing automation, monitoring, and tooling gaps in the Data Services infrastructure and designing and building processes and solutions to address
- Driving innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the organization to increase operational efficiency, scalability, agility, and continuous improvement feedback loops
- Building relationships with engineering colleagues and collaborating on application design
requirements
- 3+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Experience with building infrastructure and services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and migration experience from on-premises data centers to GCP
- Experience with automating infrastructure deployments using Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Jenkins, and Rundeck
- Demonstrated programming skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, C, specifically for infrastructure automation
- Obsessively detail oriented
- Willingness to take the initiative to contribute beyond your own responsibilities
- Ability and interest to learn and deploy new technology quickly
- Proficient English (written and spoken) B2
