Senior Data Engineer for Oil and Gas Company
Currently, we are looking for a remote Senior Data Engineer with 3+ years of total experience in Data Engineering projects to join our team.
The customer is a British-Dutch multinational oil and gas company headquartered in the Netherlands and incorporated in England. It is one of the oil and gas "supermajors" and the third-largest company in the world measured by 2018 revenues.
You will be responsible for expanding and optimizing the data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Support the software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives
- Ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects
- Be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products
- Be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing the company’s data architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology/ Computer science/ Software Engineering with 3+ of experience from a reputed institute and companies
- 3+ years of total experience in Data Engineering projects and 2+ years of relevant experience on data pipeline services
- Data handling from multiple sources: Advanced SQL, blob storage, and querying unstructured data
- Experience in data engineering of Industrial Time series data (such as PI/SCADA)
- Proven experience in Java and object-oriented programming
- Extensive experience in Python/JavaScript using Big Data
- Hands-on experience in repo management, version control, and CI/CD pipeline
- Unit test preparation to assess the performance of code functionalities
- Familiar with REST APIs
- Experience with SQL DB/Cassandra
- Experience with PL/SQL, Java
- Data Warehousing experience with strong domain knowledge & experience working as a Technical lead
- English B2+
