We are seeking a Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to join our remote team.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing and building operational infrastructure to support online services for a media company, automating wherever possible. You will work in a cross-location team of IaC engineers to ensure the smooth running of the company's operational infrastructure. Your experience with AWS and K8s, and a solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) will be essential for this role.

- Design and build operational infrastructure to support online services for a media company, automating wherever possible
- Work in a cross-location team of IaC engineers to ensure the smooth running of the company's operational infrastructure
- Ensure that the infrastructure is up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates
- Identify and resolve any infrastructure issues, escalating where necessary
- Ensure that the infrastructure is configured to meet the needs of the business, balancing cost and performance considerations
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that the infrastructure is integrated with other systems and services
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans and testing of those plans
- Mentor and coach other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices
- Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate
requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT, including Software Development and Systems Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams of developers, ensuring successful project outcomes
- CI/CD knowledge (building pipelines, configuration of Jenkins, or similar)
- Solid coding experience in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Strong expertise in K8s (Kubernetes)
- Solid experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with Bash/Powershell
- Knowledge of AWS, including networking, compute, IAM, S3, auto-scaling
- Solid Linux knowledge
- Experience with Terraform
- Familiarity with Prometheus/Alertmanager/Grafana
- Prior Nomad knowledge
- Experience in handling incidents and being on-call
- Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written (B2 level)

- Experience in running Windows Server VMs in the cloud and everything it entails
