Chief SAP ABAP Developer
We are seeking a highly experienced remote Chief SAP ABAP Developer to lead our development team in creating innovative solutions for our clients.
As part of our team, you will work closely with stakeholders to gather and catalog functional and non-functional requirements, participate in pre-sales activities, and advocate for solution proposals. Your expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP S/4HANA will be critical in leading the development of new capabilities and service offerings, as well as designing and deploying integrated end-to-end solutions.
responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and help envision and create solutions to solve problems
- Support cost/benefit analysis to align technology solutions with business strategy
- Lead the development of new capabilities or service offerings within SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP SaaS, including the design and deployment of integrated end-to-end solutions
- Take the lead in solving technical challenges with industry best practices as part of the application development team
- Engage in hands-on programming for front-end and/or back-end development
- Determine the impact of modifications and enhancements to applications and assist with identifying integration points and the end-to-end solution design
- Advise on SAP CIO Guides, Integration Solution Advisory Methodology, Application Extension Methodology, RISE/GROW with SAP, SAP Data and Analytics Advisory Methodology
- Estimate work efforts relating to SAP development, Basis, DevOps activities, and technical architecture components
- Create solution architecture documentation, work/feature-breakdown structure document, and other related artifacts with deep technical details
requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
- At least 2 years of relevant leadership experience
- At least 2 finished projects and system design and architecture from scratch
- Expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP S/4HANA
- Experience in leading the development of new capabilities and service offerings
- Strong command of SAP CIO Guides (On-premises / Cloud / Hybrid), Integration Solution Advisory Methodology (ISA-M), Application Extension Methodology, RISE/GROW with SAP, SAP Data and Analytics Advisory Methodology
- Proficiency in estimating work efforts relating to SAP development, Basis, DevOps activities, and technical architecture components
- Experience in creating solution architecture documentation, work/feature-breakdown structure document, and other related artifacts with deep technical details
- Fluent English language skills with an Upper-Intermediate level

- Ability to identify solution gaps and develop gap closure options
- Understanding of one or more business domains
- Experience in one of the cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Certifications from SAP or other vendors
- Capability to present SAP features and innovations filtered and focused on potential customer needs
