Lead DevOps Engineer
We're inviting a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our remote team, who has expertise in Microsoft Azure.
As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will lead the DevOps team to handle the entire development operations pipeline. This includes automating infrastructure deployment and integrating continuous delivery practices. We envision our prospective hire as an experienced DevOps Engineer with a profound understanding of Microsoft Azure, container orchestration systems like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and deployment automation tools like Helm and Terraform. Your responsibility will include both designing and maintaining the infrastructure and tools that bolster our product offerings.
responsibilities
- Leadership of a DevOps Engineer team focused on managing the development operations pipeline, including automation of infrastructure deployment, and implementation of continuous integration and delivery practices
- Design and establishment of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure
- Creation and maintenance of deployment automation tools utilizing Helm and Terraform
- Provision of technical leadership and guidance to the team to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and delivered to high-quality standards
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to both identify and rectify technical issues, and to enhance system performance and reliability
- Close coordination with Product and Engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements, including adoption of new technologies and frameworks
- Mentoring of other DevOps Engineers on the team and contributing to the development of technical skills across the organization
requirements
- A minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, particularly in Azure and container orchestration systems
- At least 1 year of experience leading software development teams demonstrating superior leadership skills
- Substantial experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, and Python
- Experience in implementing and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Capability to work autonomously and lead a team in a remote setting
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English, with at least an upper-intermediate level of competency to communicate effectively with stakeholders
nice to have
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
- Previous engagement with additional containerization technologies such as Docker Swarm
