Lead DevOps Engineer

An opportunity is open for a Lead DevOps Engineer to strengthen our remote team with your expertise in Microsoft Azure infrastructure optimization.

Your role as the Lead DevOps Engineer will entail the blueprint, implementation, and safeguarding of our Azure environment by ensuring exceptional performance and security. Collaborating with the development and operations teams to deploy and manage our cloud-based applications will be crucial, requiring your proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm. Your Terraform, Bash, Ruby, and Python mastery will play a pivotal role in automating tasks and refining our procedures.

responsibilities
  • Blueprinting, implementing, and safeguarding our Microsoft Azure infrastructure for cloud-based applications' support
  • Deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • Task automation and process streamlining using Terraform, Bash, Ruby, and Python
  • Active collaboration with development and operations teams to ascertain seamless deployment and operation of cloud-based applications
  • Assurance of the high availability, optimum performance, and security of our Azure environment
  • Development and safeguarding of CI/CD pipelines for efficient application deployment
  • Monitoring and rectifying Azure environment issues using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Leading and coaching junior DevOps engineers in the team
requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with DevOps specific to Azure infrastructure
  • Proven track record in leading and managing developer teams, ensuring success in project delivery
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
  • Proficient in Shell scripting using Bash and atleast one of Ruby and Python
  • Relative exposure to GitOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in monitoring and logging using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
  • Exposure to working in Agile development methodologies
  • Outstanding English communication skills, preferably upper intermediate level or higher
nice to have
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and data analytics technologies
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
