Lead DevOps Engineer

Our remote team is actively seeking a qualified Lead DevOps Engineer.

The successful candidate will assist in streamlining our Microsoft Azure platform, performing duties such as design, implementation, and maintenance to ensure premium performance and security. Collaboration with development and operations teams to manage and deploy cloud-based applications utilizing Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm is required. Your competence in Terraform, Bash, Ruby, and Python will be instrumental in our pursuit of task automation and process streamlining.

responsibilities
  • Enhancement and maintenance of our Microsoft Azure infrastructure to support our applications in the cloud
  • Management, deployment, and scaling of container-based apps through tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • Use of Terraform, Bash, Ruby, and Python to drive automation of tasks and streamline departmental processes
  • Cooperation with development and operations teams for seamless deployment and operation of cloud-hosted applications
  • Assurance of availability, performance, and security within our Azure environment
  • Construction and maintenance of efficient CI/CD pipelines for app deployment
  • Monitoring and solving problems in the Azure environment with the help of Prometheus and Grafana
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers
requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in DevOps, with a specific focus on Azure infrastructure
  • Proven expertise in leading developer teams and managing successful projects
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting using Bash and at least one of Ruby or Python
  • Knowledge of GitOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with tools like Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and logging
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Upper-intermediate or higher English language communication skills
nice to have
  • Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics technologies
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting
