Senior HPC Support Engineer
We are seeking a Senior HPC Support Engineer to act as the primary point of contact for HPC (high-performance computing) users, handling complex/high-priority requests and ensuring high-priority research use cases run properly on our remote team.
As a Senior HPC Support Engineer, you will be responsible for HPC application support, deployment, update, and monitoring, as well as user communication. Your expertise in Linux, Python, and Bioinformatics will be utilized to ensure data science use cases properly utilize the available resources to efficiently train models and make the most of scarce GPUs. You will also troubleshoot, perform root-cause-analysis, and navigate/help navigate our RX & DDIT ticketing and processes, as needed.
responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for HPC users and handle complex/high priority requests
- Ensure high-priority research use cases run properly
- Provide HPC application support, deployment, update, and monitoring
- Communicate with users and internal stakeholders to ensure data science use cases properly utilize the available resources
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis, navigating RX & DDIT ticketing and processes as needed
- Contribute to the continuous refinement of the HPC support process
- Engage with your mentor for continuous learning and development of technical and soft skills
requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in HPC support and administration, with a focus on high-performance computing and Linux
- Expertise in Python
- Strong understanding of HPC best practices
- Expert-level experience with Linux and HPC technologies, including job schedulers like UGE/AGE, Slurm, and data science common tools
- Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis, with the ability to navigate and help navigate RX & DDIT ticketing and processes
- Excellent communication and user-facing skills, with the ability to manage complex/high-priority requests
- Fluency in spoken and written English, allowing effective communication with users and team members
nice to have
- Experience with running ML on GPUs
- Experience and knowledge of R language and computational science
- Experience with Life Science/BioTech/Pharma industries
- Proficiency in Bioinformatics
