Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our remote team, contributing to the design, development, and monitoring of systems and solutions for collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing large data sets. As a Senior Java Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality software solutions, using your expertise in Java, AWS, Apache Cassandra, MongoDB, SQL, and Big Data and Data Management. responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing large data sets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop high-quality software solutions
Contribute to code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards
Develop and maintain automated test suites to validate software functionality and performance
Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and resolve issues proactively
Document software design, architecture, and development processes
Participate in the development of technical specifications and project plans
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers

requirements

3+ years of software engineering experience, demonstrating your proficiency in Java programming
Database and data manipulation skills working with relational or non-relational models
Deep curiosity for how things work and a desire to make them better
Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and resolve complex technical issues
Excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience in an Agile development environment

nice to have

Knowledge and experience with non-relational databases (i.e. Hbase, MongoDB, Cassandra)
Knowledge and experience with large-scale data tools and techniques (i.e. MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
Knowledge and experience with AWS Big Data services (i.e. EMR, ElasticSearch)
Experience working in a highly distributed environment, using modern collaboration tools to facilitate team communication
